Bali Rose

Bali Rose, from the traditional Whig Rose pattern, was made in February 1998 when we went to Florida for a month to escape the Illinois winter.  It rained 15 of the 28 days we were there.  I was ready to quilt it when we returned home. AQS published my rainy story. It was made with Hoffman Bali fabrics and was displayed in their exhibit in Houston celebrating fifteen years of Bali fabrics.

Metamorphosis

The origin of the Princess Feather pattern dates back to as early as 1709.  This pattern was adapted with the addition of original stars and the use of multi-colored fabrics rather than the traditional reds and greens.  Embellishment to the borders is added with embroidered feather designs.  I changed my ideas so many times that I had enough left to make another quilt.  Metamorphosis is a highly appropriate name.
